OHi has been trading in Galway since 2006 installing all types of Suspended ceilings, Metal stud partitions, Drying and 1st & 2nd fix carpentry. Having started the business in galway city we has now expanded our services to cover Galway county, Mayo, The Midlands and Limerick.

Office Fit-Out
Ohio's aim at office refits is to provide a personal service for the end user. We take an interest in our clients needs and are pleased to offer advice on the various products available, fire rating and sound insulation etc. We offer the complete service of Solid and glazed partitioning, Suspended ceilings, Electrics, Decorating, Flooring, Windows, Blinds and all associated works. Suspended Ceiling
OHi install a wide variety of suspended ceilings and have experience in working with a full range of suspended ceiling systems e.g. Mineral Fibre, Plasterboard and Metal Panel Ceilings'.
Suspended Ceiling such as MF Ceiling can provide easy access and it's where plasterboard is fixed to a concealed metal grid this creates a void which can be used to conceal cables, pipes and ducts etc. It can then be finished with tape & joint finish. The same system as in MF Ceilings can be used to create feature bulkheads in ceilings. These can be created to form drop level ceilings, curved features of other specific design concepts.
Grid Ceilings can provide easy access which can also be used to conceal services. Grid Ceiling consist of tiles hung within a metal grid system and there are many options regarding types and styles of tiles. Advice can be given to suit each development. These ceiling systems can be installed to suit any Design features, Fire Safety and Acoustical needs.
Partitions
We can supply and fit the following:-
- Plasterboard – plain plasterboard suitable for most general areas.
- Moisture Resistant plasterboard suitable for wet areas.
- Foil back plasterboard this has a vapour control membrane.
- Sound block plasterboard gives a greater level of sound insulation.
- Fireline plasterboard this gives enhanced fire protection.
- Metal Stud
Metal stud partitions are non load bearing internal partitions suitable for all types of Housing, Retail and Commercial developments. These can be single or double layered each side with plasterboard to
suit any requirement. These partitions can be installed to suit most designs and can include faceted or curved layouts, which can then be insulated to enhance their acoustic and thermal qualities.
Wall Linings
Blockwork walls can be lined with a metal top hat section to enable Plasterboard to be fixed directly onto them. This is an alternative method To traditional plastering, allowing for a much quicker installation time as
there is no drying period.
Finishing
All of the above partitions can be finished using taping & jointing which achieves a totally dry construction system. Eliminating the drying time of traditional plastering, and also the potential of cracks appearing on the finished surfaces.
Taping & Jointing System
Taping and Jointing System produces a smooth continuous crack free surface ready for final decoration.
This is done three stages:-
- Application bedding the tape and bulk filling the joint.
- Application takes up any shrinkage.
- Application is the final finish each stage is sanded if required.
The advantage of this method compared to traditional plastering is as follows.
- Quicker application on site
- No drying time
- No mixing of plastering materials
- No drying out cracks
- More cost effective.
Drylining
OHi carry out a wide variety of drylining. Block-work walls can be lined with a metal top hat section to enable plasterboard to be fixed directly onto them. This is an alternative method to traditional plastering, allowing for a much quicker installation time as there is no drying period. Drylining offers a light weight system using adhesive to bond boards direct on to masonry walls. This is suitable for new builds and refurbishment projects.
